ALAÏA - BEAR

During winter 2021, in the American Far North, Marievic went searching for the Bear. A solitary animal from a remote space, out of reach. The bear is wild, menacing, delicate.
« Bear » shows us animals, tools and clothes — Alaïa’s archetypes — struggling with the polar landscape. The ice moans, imprisons then frees.
The artist captures these visions like so many infinite movements of a suspended time. She comes back with a series of images, a collection of videos where animals, landscapes, tools and clothes coexist.
An ode to uncertainty where clothes become petrified. In a world where life mixes with the elements.
Initiated in 2020, ALAÏA gives carte blanche to young artists in order to appropriate historic spaces of the house. The artist MARIEVIC will present her work «Bear».
From Monday February 14 to Saturday February 19, in the Alaïa boutique located 5 rue de Marignan.
