Renowned worldwide for his distinctive red-soled pumps, Christian Louboutin has consistently crafted shoes that reflect the spirit of their time. The Pigalle, one of his earliest designs, captured the essence of its era.
As trends and tastes shifted, he introduced the iconic Kate, a shoe that represented the evolving zeitgeist. Now, in response to yet another cultural and stylistic shift, the designer presents the Miss Z, a design that encapsulates the sensibilities of today’s generation.
Featuring a slightly elongated toe and demure décolleté, Miss Z presents a contemporary take on a timeless bestseller: its iconic red sole is subtly highlighted with a cleverly designed heel that manages to create the illusion of being higher than it actually is.
With innovative materials and techniques, Miss Z promises to become an instant classic, celebrated for its modern and forward-thinking design. The shoe is constructed with an understated emphasis on comfort, while retaining the form and elegance so associated with Christian Louboutin.
Particular attention has been paid to the front of the shoe, where somewhat expanded volume is combined with the skillful insertion of a padded insole, which sums up the Miss Z attitude with modern simplicity.
A sole traditionally crafted using red leather, Christian Louboutin has recently introduced the “everlasting red sole”, a new coated finish, and the Miss Z range takes full advantage of this ingenious technique.
Once a standard leather sole has been made, it is injected with thermoplastic polyurethane that ensures unparalleled elasticity and durability.
The polished finish of its famous red is given much-extended durability, and the process provides an excellent anti-slip grip on the ground for the wearer.
The Miss Z pump will be available in four heel heights, ranging from 60mm to 120mm, as well as an 80mm mule edition. Both styles will be available in a variety of colors and material, including classic patent, five metallic colors in Specchio, and the new seasonal print.
Additionally, an exclusive e-commerce style, the ‘Miss Z Suola Strass’, will feature the signature red sole adorned with red strass. The e-commerce selection will also include a nude capsule in five different shades.
The new style confidently took centre stage at the Christian Louboutin’s Spring/Summer 2025 show during Paris Fashion Week, with all performers showcasing the Miss Z in a vibrant spectrum of five different metallic colors, creating a spectacular display of mixed hues.
The spectacle is further enhanced by the contrast of shimmering water from the pool, accentuated by striking lighting, bringing the extravagant scene to life.
The Miss Z collection will be available in January 2025.
