Bottega Veneta today launches the fifth edition of its limited-edition fanzine. Coinciding with the arrival of the Winter 24 collection, the publication is available free-of-charge in Bottega Veneta stores around the globe.
The fanzine invites readers to share in the wealth of creative energy around Matthieu Blazy’s latest collection.
True to the spirit of collaboration and exchange at the heart of the house, the publication celebrates the ideas and inspirations that informed Blazy’s designs, as well as artistic expressions that have surrounded and derived from his collection.
Through five volumes, readers can enjoy campaign imagery by Magnum photographer Alec Soth, shot on location in Utah and Nevada; behind-the-scenes pictures from the campaign shoot; a retrospective of the brand’s On the Rocks installation during Milan Design Week; a collaboration with photographer Vytautas Kumza; and a portfolio of prints by collage artist Judy Bowman.
The issue also includes an exclusive postcard set with further atmospheric images shot on location in Utah and Nevada, as well as an embroidered patch that nods to the extraterrestrial folklore of the area.
A spirit of creative dialogue characterizes the fanzine, whether in modernist references that inspiredBlazy’s design process or contemporary practitioners who have drawn their own inspiration – or materials – from Bottega Veneta design.
Concieved in partnership with Cassina and Fondation Le Corbusier, On the Rocks spotlit the LC14 Tabouret Cabanon, a timeless icon of Le Corbusier designinstallation featured the original whiskey crate that inspired Le Corbusier, along with custom editions of the LC14 Tabouret commissioned by Matthieu Blazy in wood and signature Bottega Veneta Intrecciato.
In his whimsical photo series, Lithuanian-born, Amsterdam-based photographer Vytautas Kumza creates playful, expressive photo compositions around key garments in the Winter 24 collection.
Detroit-born artist Judy Bowman, meanwhile, takes up the richly textured fabrics of the collection into her collaged evocations of her childhood in Detroit’s Eastside and Black Bottom neighborhoods.
The fanzine is enclosed in a pull-drawer slipcase, printed to emulate the special charred- wood flooringof the Winter 24 show space.
Like each of Bottega Veneta’s fanzines, the limited-edition publication is designed to welcome all followers and fans of the house into Bottega Veneta’s creative process and community. It is available on a first come, first served basis in Bottega Veneta stores worldwide.
