Isabel Marant, the French fashion label known for its effort-less and pioneering designs, has teamed up with Japanese artist Yutaka

Sone to create a stunning new store in Tokyo Aoyama called “Yellow House”. Located at Aoyama Gobankan 5-9-8, Minami Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo, the space will showcase the brand’s ready-to-wear and accessories collections and offer a unique, artful shopping experience to customers. The focal point of “Yellow House” is a striking, large-scale artwork façade. For this collaboration Yutaka Sone and Isabel Marant drew inspiration from
Sone’s earlier series ”Power of Ten” and ”Obsidian”, two series that involve an intense study of obsidian, a naturally occurring volcanic glass formed when lava extruded from a volcano cools rapidly. Obsidian has a unique
inner structure and has been used for tools of all kinds since the Stone Age. While creating ”Yellow House”, Sone followed the logic of the obsidian’s shape to create a new and unique form for the Isabel Marant flagship store
in Tokyo’s Omotesando neighborhood.

Spanning over 200 square meters, the architecture conveys a true passion for art and craftsmanship. Capturing the zeitgeist, in a creative and joyful spirit, Marant plays with the space as she would play with her own clothes.
Cutting out patches from the ceiling – as if they were dress patterns –or playing with vibrant coloured Sone obsidian stones, hand-carved wooden units and fluffy Berber sofas. The Terrazzo floor, custom made by Isabel
herself, is dotted with natural stones and glass, bringing traces of nature into urban life.

“We are thrilled to partner with Yutaka Sone for our new shop in Tokyo Aoyama,” said Isabel Marant, founder and creative director of the eponymous label. “This collaboration allows us to merge different perspec-tives and disciplines, creating something new and unique that transcends the boundaries of our individual fields.”

Customers will be able to shop Isabel Marant’s full range of men and womenswear, including the brand’s signature effortless dresses, relaxed tailoring, Oskan Moon hit bag and Balskee iconic wedge sneakers. To celebrate the opening, Isabel Marant and Yutaka Sone will host an exclusive launch event on July 6th, featuring music, refreshments, happenings, and a chance to experience the unique, immersive shopping environment. The shop will be open to the public starting mid-June.
