FENDI launches a special Capsule Collection in collaboration with London artist and illustrator, Sam Cox aka Mr. Doodle. Known for his unique style of drawing doodles, one-of-a-kind traits of bold lines made with a black marker, he has doodled walls, rooms, furniture, vehicles, buildings and anything he could get his hands on. In 2019 he took over FENDI Headquarter rooftop Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana, covering it - as well as giant mirrored letters that spelled out FENDI, ROMA, and the FF, FENDI double F logo - in is black and white squiggles with a special twist, an accent of FENDI yellow.
The special relationship between the Roman Luxury House and Mr. Doodle thrived in 2020 with a whole cross category and gender Capsule Collection in celebration of Chinese Valentine’s Day. A Women’s and Men’s leather goods, Ready to Wear and shoes Capsule Collection will launch end July 2020 in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Nanjing, Shenyang, Hong Kong and Taipei together with Singapore, Sydney, Bangkok, Costa Mesa and Vancouver, to coincide with Chinese San Valentine’s day that this year is on August 25, falling on the 7th day of the 7th Chinese lunar month. Mr. Doodle takes his pen to spell out the FENDI and FF logos. In a never-ending creative stream, he doodles designing character by character and connecting all the drawings together to give life to the all-over spectacular Doodle’s pattern in black and white together with yellow touches featuring the FENDI and FF logos, the iconic FENDI color trademark and hearts in the symbolic red colour.
The Capsule features the regular women’s Peekaboo Iconic bag in white calf leather, with external printed serigraphy of black doodles, yellow and red touches of color together with a Mini Peekaboo Iconic bag in red nappa leather with internal doodles printed serigraphy.
A Nano Baguette in white calf leather with doodles serigraphy and a yellow FENDI logo standing out, the ultimate Peek-a-phone, a phone holder with a long strap and Peekaboo iconic closure with same graphics and the addition of the red hearts like the double face printed silk squared foulard and wrappy.
The Ready-to-Wear Collection evolves in denim shorts with embroideries on the pocket, white regular jersey t-shirt with printed doodles serigraphy, silk printed serigraphy trousers with red piping, a white hooded sweatshirt with frontal doodles completed by leather biker shoes.
The Men’s Ready-to-Wear collection is predominantly in black with touches of whispered printed doodles.
A nylon reversible wind coat in all over doodled print and total black kicks it off, followed by a black cotton blazer jacket with doodles details on the front pocket, black all over print trousers followed by short trousers with doodles patch on the back. A sportier selection includes a white regular jersey t-shirt with printed doodles serigraphy, a white hooded sweatshirt with frontal doodles and a black t-shirt with doodled FF logo. Men’s leather goods feature the Peekaboo Xlite Fit in white canvas with doodles serigraphy and Cuoio Roma black profiles, inside pocket in red and gold hardware. A sportier black backpack in nylon and printed leather with golden hardware, red leather details and printed doodles on pockets and inner pockets. Completing with a flat pouch in black leather with printed doodles highlighting the FENDI yellow logo and a red heart.
White low top sneakers in printed leather, portraying black doodles, FENDI yellow logo and red hearts complete the looks in addition to baseball caps in black with yellow FENDI logo and an all over doodles with
version with yellow FF and hearts.
A pre-launch of the Capsule Collection will be available from the 24 th July 2020 on fendi.cn and followingly it will be available from end July in the FENDI boutiques mentioned above.
