Campaign - 9/6/23
Michael Kors is pleased to announce the launch of the Fall/Winter 2023 Michael Kors Collection ad campaign, photographed in New York by renowned Dutch duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. The new campaign features supermodels Anok Yai and Vittoria Ceretti as they stroll through Manhattan’s famed Greenwich Village neighborhood and Washington Square Park, locations near and dear to Michael’s heart. The striking imagery channels the strength and confidence of New York City, while the historic downtown backdrop emphasizes the collection’s theme of urban bohemia.
“For this collection, I was really thinking about the things that influenced me when I was coming of age in the ‘70s—the women who influenced me, the neighborhood that influenced me, and the combination of big city glamour and bohemia that I found in Greenwich Village at that time,” says Michael Kors. This season serves as an ode to the rule-breaking spirit that has characterized Greenwich Village for decades. Proportion play, in the form of long sweeping coats and dramatic capes paired with leggy dresses, skirts and shorts, feels both covered up and revealing.
Slashes, slits and body-conscious knits frame the body, while hip-slung belts shift the eye. Sleek, glamorous jumpsuits make the case for a new kind of evening. The rich palette ranges from graphite and charcoal to warm tones of chocolate and chestnut, mixed with monochrome moments of merlot and forest. Accessories for the season share a softer, more free-spirited attitude, from the Ali fringed clutch and relaxed Gloria messenger to the timeless Campbell weekender. Knee-high boots ground almost every look. The global campaign will debut on social media platforms, digital outlets and in traditional outdoor media placement, while print ads will run in select fall issues.
