Campaign - 3/20/24

A fervent Dior* customer, Marlene Dietrich and her iconic, unrivalled elegance inspired the Dior Fall 2024 line dreamed up by Maria Grazia Chiuri. Embodying the eternal presence and masculine-feminine style of the actress, the silhouettes conceived by the Creative Director are revealed through images shot by American artist and photographer Collier Schorr.

Infinitely magnetic, the shots explore the plurality of feminine facets. In a pared-down setting suggesting a backstage scene, the models’ poses are a fusion of sophistication and naturalness. From shadow to light, from black and white to color, from the ‘50s to today, the looks tell the story of that duality: from below-the-knee pencil skirts to lace-encrusted petticoat dresses; the outfits allow sublime glimpses of lingerie, an essential subtlety exalting this Dior collection.

Others are punctuated by architectural jackets, wide-leg pleated pants and long, lined coats.Irresistibly poetic, the embroidery evokes brooches based on Dior codes – like the clover or the bee –while collars are distinguished by veritably structural intarsia.

Inviting freedom and movement, bags are featured in mini versions, including theLady Dior, an emblem with a fabulous destiny, combining House symbols – such as cannage graphics – with excellent savoir-faire. In turn, shoes reflect that multiple femininity, at once timeless and ultra-contemporary, exemplified by the Spectadior pumps and Dior Star sneakers.

A prodigious field of possibilities, at the convergence of self-assertion and collective energy, refinement and fluidity.

*“No Dior, no Dietrich!”she even replied to Alfred Hitchcock, before the filming of Stage Fright.
