Anthony Vaccarello invites American artists' book organization Printed Matter to collaborate on two book presentations at the Saint Laurent Rive Droite stores in Paris and Los Angeles. Founded in 1976, Printed Matter is the world’s leading non-profit organization dedicated to the distribution, understanding and appreciation of artists’ books and related publications with storefronts in NYC and a range of free public programs and services dedicated to the medium. In tandem with growing international interest and activity in the field of artists' books, Printed Matter founded the NY and LA Art Book Fairs (in 2006 and 2013 respectively), which have become the world’s largest venues for the distribution, investigation and celebration of artists' books and art publishing. Today, Printed Matter’s mission remains more relevant than ever.
A selection of about twenty books will be available at both stores, including books by David Horvitz & Ed Steck, Nigel Shafran, or Joel Smith’s curation of Ray Johnson’s photographs Please Send to Real Life. The available selection is comprised of limited, and special editions with print, along with regular trade editions.
