Maison Margiela 5AC bag in biodegradable rubber

For Spring-Summer 2022, Maison Margiela releases its signature 5AC bag in biodegradable rubber.
First introduced in Défilé Collection Spring-Summer 2016, the 5AC is a subverted modern classic which employs the technique of anonymity of the lining to reveal its internal structure: an extension of the lining, which transforms the bag’s shape to expose a larger pocket adorned with the four stitches. Its name is derived from ‘133t speak’, an early tech language that encodes the word ‘SAC’ – French for bag – into ‘5AC’.
The lining exposed in the Rubber 5AC is a recycled cotton with “torchon” print. This reflects the notion of inverted snobbery which encourages a dialogue between fine and humble fabrics.
Available in medium size, it features new primary colours such as Delft blue, yellow & red, as well as black, white and nude.
Maison Margiela medium Rubber 5AC bag will be available this winter for € 1.390 - £ 1.390 - $1.740 - ¥ 214.000 in select Maison Margiela stores and on maisonmargiela.com. A mini Rubber 5AC version will follow in Spring 2022.
