New products / Fashion house - 11/26/20
To mark the festive season, Burberry has released a series of images celebrating the products that are hallmarks of the house – inspired by the brand’s rich heritage and reimagined by Riccardo Tisci.
The iconic Burberry check was first used to line rainwear in the 1920s and has been an unmistakable signature since the 1960s. Under the creative direction of Riccardo Tisci, it remains the iconic house code – elevated, reworked and reconstructed in every collection.
This season, outerwear includes a flight jacket in check wool bonded to tactile shearling, articulated with smooth leather patch pockets. Knitwear for women features an oversized sweater and matching knee-length pencil skirt in soft wool cashmere, intarsia knitted with an argyle pattern. For men, there is a relaxed-fit Merino wool sweater in jacquard-woven check, finished with striped rib-knit trims.
The Lola, a softly structured runway bag, has been updated in quilted check cashmere, punctuated with a polished chain strap and the Thomas Burberry Monogram. The new Olympia shoulder bag is sculpted from knitted argyle and smooth Italian-tanned leather and finished with gold-plated hardware.
Burberry’s Classic Cashmere Scarf in check is made in a 200-year-old mill in the Scottish countryside. The fabric is woven on traditional looms, washed in local spring water and carefully brushed with teasels for a super-soft finish. Baseball caps for men and women have also been updated in check wool.
